8/15 - EMAIL UPDATE:

Football starts this week! We’re so excited the team will soon be practicing and gearing up for a full season! Thank you for your patience as the school and district continue to work out all the details of the upcoming school year. There are still quite a few outstanding questions around game and safety protocols the district is working through, so we’ll answer what we can now and communicate as often as needed with updates in the coming weeks. There is a lot of information in this mail so please take time and go through, and don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Fees: There are multiple fees required for the school and the booster club to ensure a great season for the boys. The coaches have been communicating to the boys regarding Final Forms status and will continue to do so. But please check with them and pay the 2 school fees (ASB and Football Season through the NSD site, TouchBase).   The ASB and Football season fees will be on the TouchBase site on August 16th, your athlete cannot play until the school fees are paid.

The other fee we need to collect is for the Vikings Gridiron Booster Club. The booster club fee is $150. Please fill out the attached form to pay the booster fees.  The form can be mailed to the address on the form, given to the coaches, or given to Kathryn after practice the first week. Fees are due no later than September 24th.  The team is highly dependent on the booster fees for support. As with most sports at the high school level, the school funding is not sufficient to provide comprehensive support.

The booster fees pay for key items such as:
HUDL fees which provide game film review and analysis the coaches use weekly for game prep and communications to the players
Additional practice equipment beneficial to the team
Team snacks and food (traditionally supply game time snacks and drinks for half time replenishment, food during 2-a-day practices, game day team dinners, etc)
Additional coaching and training costs as requested by the coaches (e.g. Volt being used for weight training)
Senior gifts and senior night activities

If your athlete is on student assistance or scholarship for fees or you just need support, please reach out to Nanette, the booster treasurer ([email protected]inglemoorfootballboosters.com) for assistance.

Boosters:

In addition to the fees, WE NEED YOU! As we transition back to a traditional season this year, we want to be able to provide the players with all the things they missed last year.   We need a minimum of 4 people on the board to continue operating as a 501c3 organization and we only have 2 of us right now.  We also need as many volunteers as we can to help with all the below items.   You do not need to have any experience to do this, it's OK if you are a freshman or sophomore parent and haven't been through a full season…the more help we have, the easier it will be for all of us and the more meaningful it will be for the players.  Please consider joining the board and volunteering!  We will have a booster zoom meeting next week either Sunday or Monday - let us know if you'd like to attend.

Critical tasks we need to provide starting immediately include:

• Parent and community communications (football team website and social media)

• Fundraising (e.g. need to continue working with community on local sponsorship through banners paid for and displayed at Pop Keeney home games)

• Team dinners and snacks (coordination, cooking, signing up other parents to assist, etc.)

• Game time support including spirit wear sales and programs for home games

• Senior Night and Senior gifts

• End of the Year Banquet

• Programs creation

From the coaches:

Hello everyone, football is right around the corner!  Practices start next Wednesday, 8/18 from 4:00-6:30pm.  Be ready to go at 3:45pm at the IHS football field with helmets and make sure players are hydrated and ready to go.  Attached is the practice schedule for this month.  For those of you that have not gotten gear, pickup is Monday, 8/16 for Seniors (4:00-4:30)/Juniors (4:30-5:00) and Tuesday 8/17 for Sophomores (4:00-4:30)/Freshman (4:30-5:00).   If your player is missing gear, they will be able to get their gear after practice on Wednesday.

Freshman team ZOOM meeting will be held on Monday, 8/16 at 7pm.  Coach Chris Henkens will be going over what to expect in the first week of practice and be available to answer any questions that the players may have.  Below is the zoom link:

5/28 - EMAIL UPDATE:

We have some exciting news today from Coach Hannan! It looks like our schedule has been set for next year.  We are in a year 1 of a 2 year cycle.  While this can change, this is what we are planning for:

Juanita
Lake Washington
Jackson
Thomas Jefferson (Seattle)
North Creek
Bothell
Issaquah
Woodinville
Crossover
Playoffs

Coach Burke has had the players that are not in a sport running on M-W-F at 7:00.  Thanks coach.  Working on more participation.

We have 28 kids signed up at the moment with about 26 from last year still outstanding.  We have 10 Freshmen signed up (nice job coach Henkens!)  We'll probably get another 10 or so which will bring our number up to about what we would expect.  65-70 players.

Our biggest need at the moment is to get the players to sign up.  We are about 3 weeks out of the start of Spring Drills and we'll need everyone GREEN in Final Forms and ready to go!

5/18 - EMAIL UPDATE:
Please double check your player's eligibility in Final Forms so all players (incoming freshmen too!) can participate in May Conditioning.  Currently we only have 10 players that are in the green for the 2021-2022 season. The coaches will reach out to the boys in Hudl to arrange the conditioning for this week.

Final Form tips:
  • website: https://northshore-wa.finalforms.com
  • Be sure when you log in that you click the "Click to switch to 2021-2022 Registration"
  • Choose Boys Summer Football AND Boys football
  • Then there is a never ending list of documents that need your signature.  Your player will also have to log into Final Forms with their NSD email address to sign a number of forms as well.
  • Make sure all physicals are up to date as well (NSD Physical Form attached)

5/8 - EMAIL UPDATE:

To the Parents of Class of 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025:

We hope you are all staying healthy and safe.  Thank you for all your support during our short football season.  We are looking forward to a longer season in the Fall.  A few things that we want to update you on and need your help with:

Board Officers

We have a few positions available.  Here are the descriptions of each position and time commitment:

  • PresidentThe position is the key liaison between the Athletic Director and the Head Coach.  Also, develops the agenda and runs the monthly booster meetings.  This position is also responsible for the corporate sponsorship fundraising.  Time commitment: 5-8 hours/month off season and 1-1.5 hours/week during football season.
  • Vice-President The position is responsible for coordinating fundraising activities (outside of sponsorships) and merchandising sales. Also, serves as the back-up for the President as needed.  Time commitment: 5-8 hours/month off season and 1-1.5 hours/week during football season.
  • Class Representatives – 2023, 2024, 2025 - Each class representative activities include attendance at booster club meetings, sending communication targeted to specific class (as applicable) and coordinating Team Dinners and End of Season Banquet (if applicable). Time commitment: 1-2 hours/month during off season and 4-5 hours/month during football season.
  • Class Representative – 2022 This class representative will coordinate all senior night activities, which includes coordinating senior game, working with photographer for senior pictures, sourcing gifts and assisting Coach on Senior night awards as needed.  Time commitment: 1-2 hours/month during off season and 4-5 hours/month during football season.

Please reply to this email to nominate yourself or someone else.  If you have questions about the positions or other booster activities, please reply to this email or reach out to one of the board members.  Voting will be held at the next Booster meeting, which will be on May 18 at 7:00pm.

Vikings Fee - We hope to know more about the Fall 2021 Football Season soon.  In the meantime, we are starting our off-season planning and activities.  Some activities may even start as soon as this month.  As most of you are aware, with the shortened season we did not collect any football fee---we used existing uniforms and had very limited booster activities.  Historically, the Inglemoor Football Fee has been in the range of $150-$180.  Included in the fee are practice jersey with players name, all Booster-sponsored activities and team events.  Until we get more information about the season, we will not know what the exact fee will be.  We will keep you posted as we know more.
